Yusuf Adıgüzel

Professor Yusuf Adıgüzel graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication Sciences in 1995. He completed his master's degree in 1998 at the Sociology Department of the Institute of Social Sciences at Sakarya University with his thesis entitled “Culture Industry and the Paradoxes of Mass Society” and his PhD in 2004 with his dissertation entitled “The Role of Turkish Association in the Preservation of Identity: The Case of Germany/Cologne.” He works on migration, communication, urban, non-governmental organizations and volunteering. He is currently a faculty member and Head of the Department of Applied Sociology at Istanbul University, Department of Sociology. He has published four books: Culture Industry, Turkish Organizations in Germany, Language, Religion, Identity among German Turks and Migration Sociology. Adıgüzel is married and has three children.
