Özge Aktaş Mazman

General Director, Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV)

Having graduated from Robert College, Dr. Özge Aktaş Mazman completed her undergraduate studies at Boğaziçi University, Department of Sociology in 2001. She received her MA degree from the University of Essex in 2003 and her doctoral degree in 2010 from the same university’s Center for Migration Research with her dissertation on internal migration in Turkey. During her Ph.D., she worked on development-oriented research projects at the Science Policy Research Center at the University of Sussex. Thereafter she took part in the founding team of Istanbul Şehir University, Center for Urban Studies, and conducted many research projects on migration, city, public sphere, demography and family. Aktaş is a faculty member at Istanbul Bilgi University and her research interests include migration, urban sociology, demography, social networks, and family studies. She has been the General Director of TESEV since April 2015.
