Mustafa Çöpoğlu

Secretary General, East Marmara Development Agency

Dr. Mustafa Çöpoğlu completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Ünye, Ordu. He graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Science and Public Administration in 1992 and started his career in the same year as a Labor Inspector at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. In 1995, he completed his Master's Degree at Istanbul University, Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations. In 1998, he received his PhD in the same field from the same department. Between 2001 and 2002, he temporarily served as a Consultant at the General Secretariat of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Between 2005 and 2013, he worked first as the Head of the Inspection Board and then as the Deputy Secretary General in Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality. He was appointed as Deputy Undersecretary at the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology in January and April 2014. Between April 2014 and January 2017, he served as the Secretary General of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality. As of 27 March 2017, he has been working as the Secretary General of East Marmara Development Agency.
