Murat Şentürk, a sociologist of urban studies, is Associate Professor at Istanbul University. He received a Sociology MA [Life Strategies of the Indigent: The Districts of Küçük Mustafa Paşa and Balat (Istanbul) as Cases in Point] and PhD [Urban Intervention in The City of Istanbul] from Istanbul University, Department of Sociology. He joined the Sociology faculty of Istanbul University faculty as Assistant Professor in 2013. In 2013, he was Visiting Scholar at City University of New York (USA) The Graduate Center. His research interests include urban interventions, urbanisms and politics, sociology of space, family, new media, technology addiction, and the sociology of aging.
