M. Murat Erdoğan

Migration and Integration Research Center Director, Turkish German University

Prof. Dr. M. Murat Erdogan is the chair of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Turkish German University in Istanbul and the director of TAU Migration and Integration Research Center. Prof. Erdogan is the founder and former director of the Hacettepe University Migration and Politics Reseach Center-HUGO, a member of UNESCO-Turkey and ISC of Metropolis International.

Mr. Erdoğan is a political scientist and migration specialist. He received his Ph.D from Ankara University and Bonn University in political sciences with his dissertation titled “Turkey-EU Relationship after the Cold War: 1990-2005.” His research interests include Turkish migrants in Europe, EU-Turkey Relationships, Turkish Domestic and Foreign Policy, EU, Europeanization, Germany, Migration, Islamafobia, European Public Opinion and political cartoons. He has published several books and articles. He served as the General Coordinator or Consultant of several international projects. He was as a guest researcher at the University of Duisburg-Essen (2008), Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik e.V. Berlin (DGAP) (2009), Humboldt Univ., Berlin (2010), Oxford Univ. (2012), SWP (Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik in Berlin) (2013), Johns Hopkins Univ. (AICGS) in Washington DC (2014).
