Hilmar Tevrüz v. Lojewski

Councillor, German Association of Cities

Since 2012 Hilmar von Lojewski has held the post of elected councillor for urban development, building, housing, and transport for the the German Association of Cities and the City Association of North Rhine-Westphalia.

From 1982 to 1988, he studied spatial planning in Dortmund and urban and regional planning in Ankara. Until 1991, he worked as a freelance urban planner in Dortmund and took his second state examination in Frankfurt am Main in 1991, specializing in urban design. Until 1994, he worked for the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) as a planning advisor on urban development in Kathmandu, Nepal. Until 2000, he was head of the division for legal affairs, procedures and contracting at Dresden City Planning Office. Mr von Lojewski also worked for the Senate Department for Urban Development in Berlin from 2000 to 2012, where he was responsible for the urban design and projects directorate and for the directorate dealing with ministerial affairs of building. From 2007 to 2010 he worked in the field of German development cooperation and headed the Programme for Sustainable Urban Development in Syria.
