Doris Gstach

Professor in Open Space and Landscape Planning, University of Applied Sciences in Erfurt

Prof. Doris Gstach is a landscape architect by profession. She has been working as a practitioner, researcher and teacher in Austria, Germany and the US. Since 2012 she holds a position as professor in Open Space and Landscape Planning at the University of Applied Sciences in Erfurt/Germany. She teaches a variety of classes and studios on open space planning and design in urban planning. Her research focusses on the use of public space, open space typologies, and city wide planning policies in open space development. Recent research projects examine strategies of open space provision as contribution to environmental justice and options of retrofitting green infrastructure in different urban structures to reduce heat island effects.
