Ayşe Güner

Professor of Economics, Marmara University

Having graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Public Administration in 1982, she completed her Master's degree (1985) and her PhD (1992) at the same university. She became associate professor in 2000 and professor in 2006. Still serving as the chair of the Department of Finance, Prof. Güner worked also as chair of the Local Administration and Decentralization at the Institute of Social Sciences of the same university between 2001-2012, and as the Director of the Centre for Research and Application of Urban Problems and Local Governments during 2004-2012. Her research interests include finance theory, local government finance, the economic effects of taxes, corruption and economic effects in the public sector.
