Arda Batu

Secretary General, TÜRKONFED

After graduating from The Browning School, Arda Batu graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Political Science and International Relations. Having completed his internship at the European Parliament, he received his Master's Degree from the European Community Institute of Marmara University in 2004.

In 2003, he started his professional career as a research assistant at Yeditepe University, where he is currently a PhD candidate. Besides his academic studies and civil society duties, he worked as a project manager in the law and investment consultancy company HB Consultancy Group from 2007 to 2010. He worked as a political and economic risk analysis consultant at London-based Aleph Consulting between 2010 and 2011.

Prior to his position as Secretary General & Member of the Board of Directors at the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED), he continued his academic, non-governmental as well as executive activities at the strategic communication and consultancy company StrategyCo.

An independent board member at Federal Mogul Izmit Piston AS, a member of the board of directors of the Economic and Foreign Policy Research Center (EDAM) and the editorial board of the Turkish Policy Quarterly, Batu designed and managed projects in such instutions as the European Union, United Nations, NATO: Department of Public Diplomacy, World Bank, IRI And GMF.
